As part of their preparation for the forthcoming GCSE exams, Year 11 students took part in a number of workshops to develop skills and raise aspiration and motivation last week. Students enjoyed an inspirational talk from guest speaker Karim Al-Abbas who explained how the brain works and demonstrated how to improve memory skills. This was followed by an exercise and relaxation session. During the evening parents/carers attended an event on how to support their child with revision techniques and they also experienced sitting an exam in the Gymnasium! The NCS – National Citizen Service also attended the evening and provided information about the fantastic scheme on offer to young people. NCS is a life changing programme open to all teenagers aged 15 to 17 which helps build life skills, confidence, self-awareness and responsibility.
