Girls in Physics

Seven students will be taken to a ‘Girls in Physics’ event next Wednesday. This is a fantastic opportunity for these students to meet women currently working in STEM jobs and to have some discussions with other students who are aspiring physicists.

The ‘Girls in Physics’ event aims to increase the participation of girls in Physics. The workshop will provide an opportunity for girls to discuss their ideas and ask questions about careers in STEM subjects. The format is a series of round-table discussions in small groups and is one that has been devised by the Institute of Physics (IOP) and Women in Science and Engineering (WISE). The event is a collaboration between SSFC and the IOP. An essential part of the event will be the opportunity for the girls to meet and talk to women who are already working in STEM jobs.
