Gold Award for SJT Music Department
Debbie Peate, Head of Music at Sir John Talbot’s School, was recently awarded an ISM Trust Gold Certificate in Music 2016 in recognition for her department’s extremely high success rate in last year’s exams. Thanks to Mrs Peate, a significant percentage of students achieved A* – C in GCSE Music, and SJT’s Music department now ranks a magnificent 48 out of over 3000 schools across the country.
Mrs Peate was over the moon for the school and her students, saying, “I am completely overwhelmed by the ISM Gold Award. It is great for the students to get the recognition they deserve for all the effort they put into their GCSE work.”
The certificate is supported by the ISM Trust, the charitable arm of the Incorporated Society of Musicians, whose aim is to encourage more students to study Music and learn an instrument.
