The Archer’s Graham Harvey brings to The Talbot Theatre’s stage at Whitchurch Leisure Centre the true tale ‘No Finer Life’ by Dogwood Productions in March.
This wonderful play about an unlikely Cotswold hero and an enduring romance will take place on Thursday, March 1 at 7.30pm. What inspires a young Somerset land girl to set off in search of a best-selling author in the darkest days of war? Set in the Oxfordshire countryside at the end of World War Two, it is rich in tradition and full of vivid and memorable characters. Moving between the 1940’s and the present day, Elisabeth’s story is timeless, yet hugely relevant today, reflecting our relationship with the land and the fight to retain the heart of rural Britain.

Elizabeth is played by Rebecca Bailey and the show is directed by James Le Lacheur, who has recently spent a year in London’s West End in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Graham Harvey has been the Agricultural Story Editor of The Archers for 20 years and writer of more than 600 episodes. Award-winning composer Alastair Collingwood, who has written scores for numerous theatre shows, including the West End and TV themes, provides the live music.
The show will be a riveting evening and given the people behind it a combination of muck and magic!
A short trailer for the show can be seen here.
Tickets are £12 for adults and £6 for young people and are available from the Leisure Centre. Please call 01948 660660, 07506724572 or book on-line here.
