Local Companies back Whitchurch Career Fest
Grocontinental, Whitchurch’s largest employer, will be joining a host of other local companies to provide careers advice and details of current job opportunities at Whitchurch Career Fest on Thursday 19th October at St Alkmund’s Church between 9.30am and 3pm.
Organised by Sir John Talbot’s School and St Alkmund’s Church, the event will showcase the range of career opportunities available in Whitchurch and the surrounding area. The event is open to the general public who are invited to call into the church at any time.
There will be an opportunity to discover career opportunities across a variety of business sectors including hospitality, health care, the service industry and engineering. As well as Grocontinental, confirmed exhibitors include Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel Golf and Spa, Belton Cheese, Blackhurst Garage, BodyTech Health and Fitness, Chase Enterprise, Whitchurch Library, Greenfields Care Home and Hatchers Solicitors.
Speaking about Grocontinental’s involvement, Managing Director, Linda Grocott, said:
“Career Fest will provide us with a great opportunity to talk to local people about the different career options we have to offer. Locally, there is a great awareness of our company, but definitely less knowledge of the variety of roles we have available.
“Our Human Resources team will be on-hand to have an informal chat with people about our business and what we currently have on offer. With its central location, St Alkmund’s is the perfect venue to host the event and we look forward to meeting lots of people.”
The Revd Canon Dr Judy Hunt said, “We are delighted to be hosting this event and pleased that Amy Farley, the Economic Growth Coordinator of the Marches Growth Hub will be with us. Come and chat to her about your hopes or concerns for businesses in the area at any time during the day. She will be speaking at 12.50pm”.
