Proud As Punch With GCSE Results

Students and staff at Sir John Talbot’s School in Whitchurch were ‘Proud as Punch’ today as they received their GCSE Results. Results at the school have continued to improve, with the number of students gaining 5 or more A* – G Grades, including English and Maths, increasing by and impressive 12% and the number of A* and A grades remaining high. Headteacher of Sir John Talbot’s School, David O’Toole, is “delighted” with the performance of Year 11 students.

Mr O’Toole commented, “We are all celebrating the outstanding achievements of our students today. They have worked hard to secure these results and can now use them as a springboard for their next steps. We have a thriving sixth form and are looking forward to welcoming many of them back to embark on A Level courses. We were thrilled when the school was judged as ‘good’ in our Ofsted inspection in the summer term, however, enabling students to reach these milestones in their lives is at the heart of our school ethos.”

Maths, History, Spanish, Photography, Food Technology, PE and ICT all performed well and in 22 subjects 100% of students achieved a pass grade. Students who have taken modern foreign languages have performed exceptionally well this year, with 40% achieving an A*- A grade.
