Remembrance Day

Following an emotive assembly to mark Remembrance Day, at 11 o’clock the whole of Sir John Talbot’s school participated in a two-minute silence to reflect on those who courageously fought and lost their lives in conflicts of both the past and the present.

A number of Sir John Talbot’s students who are in the Army Cadets, Air Cadets, Scouts and Guides along with ex-military staff then gathered around the cenotaph in the School Hall, outfitted in full uniform and laid a wreath in commemoration to the fallen. PE Teacher Miss Sarah Newey member of the Army for six years prior to joining Sir John Talbot’s School, then proceeded to read out the names of past Sir John Talbot’s students who courageously fought but sadly fell in the conflicts as a mark of respect.

Lest we forget.
