Road to Wimbledon
Sir John Talbot’s School recently invited tennis coaching company Inspire2Coach to run their very own ‘Road to Wimbledon’ for students in Years 7, 8 and 9, with the aim of giving students a fun and exciting experience that also promoted the benefits of sport. Over the course of a week, 250 hopefuls were whittled down to just 16 finalists who competed for the Road to Wimbledon title at The Hollies Tennis Club on Tuesday 12th July in front of parents and members. The Boys final was won by Year 9 student Ben Kimberley, with Elliott Hambleton taking the runner-up spot. Meanwhile, Year 7 student Chloe Lloyd was crowned the Girls champion, with Year 8 student Amy Fry coming in as the runner-up.
