Sixth Form Taster Days
Sir John Talbot’s Sixth Form are launching a new qualification in Sport and Physical Activity from September 2018. The Level 3 Cambridge Technical Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity forms part of the Sixth Form’s expanding portfolio of courses being offered to Year 12 students.
Prospective students currently in Year 11 from surrounding schools who are making their decisions for post-16 education are being invited to experience a day at Sir John Talbot’s Sixth Form throughout the month of November, in advance of the application deadline on the 30th November.
Sir John Talbot’s Sixth Form offers a broad range of A Level and BTEC subjects including; Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Fine Art and Photography, Psychology, Music, Performing Arts and Sport .
Michelle Jones, Associate Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form said, “We are encouraging all students who are making the important choices of where and what to study as they embark on this transition into post 16 education. We are proud of our Sixth Form provision at Sir John Talbot’s providing dedicated study rooms, ICT equipment and access to a well-equipped social area.”
Sir John Talbot’s Sixth Form is proud of its dedicated and experienced staff providing high levels of student support whilst promoting independent learning. All students benefit from a full and varied enrichment programme offering many opportunities for wider experiences and are encouraged to complete the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). This is achieved alongside their chosen subjects and enhances their learning experience and their development of further skills, recognised by many universities.
