This afternoon, Sir John Talbot’s School Sixth Form student Nathan Outterside bravely took part in ‘Brave the Shave’ to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Nathan invited his fellow peers who have already donated towards the cause to assist him in shaving his head!
Nathan commented: “I’m doing Brave the Shave to raise awareness for cancer support in Whitchurch, Sir John Talbot’s School and amongst my friends. My dad, in 1987 had malignant cancer in his right shoulder, having muscle surgically removed and then received radiotherapy. In 1988 the cancer had spread to his right lung, which then had to be operated on, removing most of it. He was told he did not have a great chance of surviving, but he did! I think that people and families that go through such things nowadays need all the support we can provide. I’m aiming to raise £250 for Macmillan Cancer Support but think we can smash that and raise much more!”
As a school community, it would be fantastic if we could help support Nathan in reaching and exceeding his target. If you would like to give a donation please visit Nathan’s Brave the Shave fundraising page at the following link: https://bravetheshave.macmillan.org.uk/sh…/nathan-outterside
Thank you!
