Students Reach National Finals of Robotics Competition

Three Year 8 students blew the local competition away as they won both the Skills and Team Challenge at the Regional VEX Robotics STEM Competition recently.

Zach Booth, Charlie Sanderson and Andrew Cundiff put their skills they have learned from the STEM – Computing Club they attend every week at Sir John Talbot’s School, Whitchurch.

They reached the final which was taking place at the Telford International Centre and they came a creditable eighth place out of over 40 competitors on a national scale.

Alex Fry of Sir John Talbot’s School, Whitchurch was full of praise for the students: “The boys have done remarkably well in this competition. We thought they did brilliantly by winning both regional competitions, but then they topped it off by coming in the top 10 nationally. They have been a real credit to the school”.
