Year 5 Creative Day
On Wednesday 22nd June, Sir John Talbot’s School was visited by over 100 Year 5 pupils who enjoyed a whole day of creativity, culminating in an extravaganza of performances in the evening, supported wonderfully by the pupils’ parents. After a day of creating, rehearsing and learning, the pupils took to the stage in the evening with great gusto, confidence and excitement.
The showcase opened with signing from the pupils, who performed beautiful, uplifting songs which they had learned in a very short space of time during the day. Dancers then flocked to the stage to perform a routine with colourful and striking umbrellas which they had decorated themselves with the help of Design Technology teachers from the school. Interspersed throughout the evening were extremely impressive interpretations of Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’, with the students both narrating and acting in the scenes.
Parents could not help themselves at the end – they gave the children a standing ovation which was fully deserved. We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the Year 5s for making it so successful and for the support of all their teachers and parents throughout.
