Community Governor Vacancy

Under the Marches Academy Trust’s constitution of the school’s Local Governing Body (LGB) we currently have a vacancy for one governor from the local community.

The Local Governing Body’s main functions will be:

 Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic direction
 Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its students; and
 Overseeing the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent.

As a member of the Local Governing Body you will be asked to attend approximately six, two hour meetings per year which take place on a Tuesday between 4pm – 6pm. In addition, you will be expected to support by making visits into school to assist with staff interviews, subject reviews and make termly Governor visits.

If you would like further information on the role of a Governor, please view our website

If you would be interested in contributing to the future success of Sir John Talbot’s School we would ask you to email to request an application form. The closing date is 4pm on Wednesday 11th December.
