Remembrance Day | Wreath laying ceremony

As is tradition at Sir John Talbot’s School, students who are in the Army Cadets, Air Cadets, Scouts and Guides along with ex-military staff are invited to wear their associated uniforms in school on Remembrance Day. This morning students gathered around the cenotaph in the school hall to lay a wreath in commemoration to the fallen. Ms Sarah Newey, who was a member of the Army for six years prior to joining Sir John Talbot’s School, then proceeded to read out the names of past Sir John Talbot’s students who courageously fought but sadly fell in the conflicts as a mark of respect.
