Student invited to DofE Regional Conference

Sir John Talbot’s student Holly Gilbert recently attended the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Regional Conference in Worcester, where she was asked to be part of an ‘expert’ panel.

At the event Holly was invited to talk about her role as a DofE Ambassador.  The panel consisted of a Headteacher and DofE Manager and she spoke to over 150 delegates from the DofE Central England Region.  She was asked questions by Jackie Bull, Regional Director of DofE Central England,  and she spoke about how DofE had given her confidence to face any challenges that life might throw at her and how helping younger students to complete their award as ambassador is something she is looking forward to doing.

Everybody at the conference was very impressed with Holly’s confidence and how her commitment to DofE made her a credit to Sir John Talbot’s school.  She was presented with a DofE thermos mug after speaking.

Mr Sanders and Mrs Morcumb were present at the conference and were incredibly proud of how confidently and enthusiastically Holly spoke about her DofE experience.

A fantastic achievement, well done Holly!
