Secondary School Uniform Consultation Outcomes

Back in the autumn as a Trust, we asked you for your views on some aspects of our uniform code, and you responded with 2067 replies from families, students, and the local community.

Since then, we have been working collaboratively through a process of change, refining and sense checking a new uniform code and can now share this with you to support any purchasing over the summer – ready for a launch in September 2025.

The code for skirts, jumpers, shirts, ties, socks, and coats remain unchanged and were not part of the consultation.

We asked you about hair, jewellery, makeup, and footwear and have made changes in all these areas.

In the process of consultation – we have also made some change to our code for trousers and shorts.

Full uniform guidance along with any photo guidance for all our uniform can be found on the school website uniform page which should always be used as the definitive guide.

Summary of items where there has been a change only:

Footwear must be plain black, including soles, laces, eyelets, and logos.

Footwear can be shoes, boots, trainer style shoes or trainers.

Canvas or deck style pumps may not be worn.

Heels should be no more than 2cm and footwear should be fastened to the feet rather than loose slip-on styles.

Please check our image gallery on the website or speak to the school before making a purchase if you are unsure.

Trousers and shorts

Straight tailored school style black trousers or tailored black shorts can be worn all year.

School style trousers are those with no patch pockets or branding, they are not legging or jeggings style and are not close fitting – having room in the cut below the knee.

Black denim or fabrics with a fade are not part of the code.

Where the trouser ends on the leg is not defined.
