World Book Day Activities

Bob Cratchit, Gangsta Granny, Miss Trunchbull, Marley’s Ghost and Professor Snape to name just a few appeared at Sir John Talbot’s on Thursday as students and staff celebrated #WorldBookDay by dressing up as a character from a book and by writing stories. All students wrote a story entitled, ‘An Extraordinary Day’ which had five parts, each part written during a different lesson throughout the day. Each lesson revealed a scenario which shaped one part of the story. Stories will be judged over the next few days and we look forward to reading the winning one. Other activities promoted by the English Department included an exciting KS4 quotation treasure hunt and cake competition. The latter of which was won by Hallie Seaton (Year 7), who created an impressive Alice in Wonderland inspired piece; Lilly White-Culf (Year 10) and Beth Troon (Year 7) were also highly commended for their highly creative and original ideas. Students completed the activities with enthusiasm and engagement!
