Last Friday morning, a large group of Year 11 and 12 students departed SJT by coach and headed off to the historic city of York. Students were taken along the ancient City Walls where they could enjoy views of the beautiful York Minster, Clifford’s Tower and the Yorkshire Museum. Year 12 students set off to explore the National Railway Museum, with its unrivalled collection of engineering brilliance including the Mallard, Bullet train and, of course, Stephenson’s Rocket. Year 11 went in search of The Shambles to find ‘The Shop That Cannot Be Named’ and York Dungeon. The Christmas Market was also in full swing. Students behaved impeccably and were a credit to the school.
