Welcome from Head of Sixth Form
For many of our lower school students this learning journey will continue at Sir John Talbot’s as they enter the Sixth Form. Existing students recognise the value of staying an environment where they have already achieved. They see the advantage of remaining local and can see that our small class sizes are advantageous in helping them achieve excellent Post 18 outcomes. We are increasingly attracting a number of students from other schools who are positive about what we offer them Post 16.
Whereas a school Sixth Form will be right for some students, we fully appreciate it will not suit all and we pride ourselves on delivering effective and impartial advice and guidance to all our students. Students have direct access to an Information, Advice and Guidance Advisor to discuss college and university applications, careers paths and opportunities for the future.
We have a strong Alumni network at Sir John Talbot’s and are always delighted to hear from past students and learn of their successes. Many students have gone on to study at some of the country’s leading Universities including Oxford, Cambridge, Warwick, Durham, Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, University College London and Imperial College London. Here at Sir John Talbot’s, we pride ourselves on laying strong, dynamic learning foundations that students can continue to build on, whichever path they choose next.
