Success for SJT Footballers

North Shropshire 7-a-side Champions

Friday 15th November saw more success for our U15 Girls’ Football team. The cold and windy weather did not affect the performance of the girls, who managed to win the group ahead of Oswestry School, The Marches School and The Grove School.

 

It’s the Semi-Finals for SJT

Wednesday 20th November saw the U13 Girls Football team take part in their quarter final match. The team showed courage and desire to narrowly beat Meole Brace School and Science College on their home soil. It was a real tough test for the girls but they stood up to the challenge and against all odds got the deserved victory. Sienna Wilson opened the scoring at the start of the second half and Grace Whittle confirmed the victory with a goal in injury time. The team now look onwards to the Semi-Final.

 

Football U16 Boys

On Thursday 21st November, the U16 Boys’ Football team produced a top draw performance which saw them score five second half goals to comfortably overcome a tough Ercall Wood Technology College team. The boys will now eagerly await the result between Shrewsbury Academy and The Priory School, to see who they will face at home in the quarter final.

 

Football U12 Girls National Cup

On Friday 22nd November, the U12 Girls’ Football team made it through to round 2 of the English Schools National Cup competition. Captain Sienna Wilson found the net four times with a goal apiece for Izzy Katihrob and Amber Paterson. The girls have a home draw against Wellington School from Trafford in Round 2. Many thanks for the support of parents in wet conditions. The match concluded SJT 6 – 0 Sandbach High School.

 

Road to Wembley…

Our U13 Girls’ 6-a-side team won the county finals of the English Football League Utilita on Wednesday 27th November. As the winners, the team now progress onwards to represent Shrewsbury Town FC in the regional finals. These are due to take place in Burton at the beginning of 2020, with the opportunity to potentially play in a grand final at Wembley Stadium!
