Over the last couple of weeks, our sports teams have been involved in a number of fixtures:
North Shropshire 7 a-side Champions
It was goals galore for the SJT U12 Girls’ Football Team as they progressed to the County Cup Quarter Finals. A solid team performance was shown, with a special mention going to our two hat-trick heroes Ella McRae and Izzy Katihrob. The SJT girls won convincingly 9-0 against Thomas Adams School. More recently, the team has built on its past success as they played in the District Tournament. They performed exceptionally, winning every game in the tournament. The girls’ scored many goals and we are hopeful of more success as they progress onwards in their upcoming
competitions.
U13 National Cup
A remarkable victory recently saw our Year 8 Boys’ Football Team progress through to Round 3 of the Nationals Small Schools Cup. A brace from captain Harry Barber and a goal a piece from Liam Wright, Ashley Rymer and Henry Appleby saw the team sail through in wet and cold conditions in Merseyside. Academy of St Nicholas 1 – 5 Sir John Talbots.
KS4 Girls Dodgeball
Well done to our KS4 Girls Dogeball Team who were runners up in the Schools Games final at Shrewsbury Sports Village recently. The girls narrowly lost to a strong Charlton School team in the final. All the girls did so well to make the finals and represent North Shropshire.
