Our U12 Girls’ Football Team met their match against a well-rounded outfit from the Wirral. The girls ended up conceding 3 early goals which was unfortunate from the onset. However, Ella McRae scored two wonderful goals, with another spectacular long range effort from Sienna Wilson which allowed us to reduce the deficit. The girls worked tirelessly and dominated the second half but could not find the break through. Congratulations go to Weatherhead High School who go through to the last 16 of the competition and we wish them luck.
Reaching the last 32 of the National competition, whereby 336 teams enter is a tremendous achievement for our girls and Mr Timmis hopes that they can take this success into the County Cup competition as well as building on their progress in future years. The ‘Girl of the game’ was voted Millie Read.
